Heart Worker
With over 10 years of advisory experience under her belt, Joanna has fought hard against a current of negative stereotypes, achieved certifications to improve her practice, and worked hard to get to her position as a Senior Estate Planner at Highlife Advisory today.
Joanna started her journey as a First Class Honors graduate with Bachelor’s degrees in Banking & Finance and Marketing from Nanyang Technological University. Despite her impressive achievement, the journey was not an easy one. Joanna battled against the negative perceptions that Singaporeans had of financial planners – fighting against stereotypes such as financial planners being sales driven, and not helpful. However, over the years, she persevered. Ignoring the stereotypes, Joanna chose instead to channel her focus and energy into building the best practice for her clients and placing her clients’ interests first. This has led to numerous clients staying with her since the start of her journey.
Joanna has always ensured that she stays on top of all the information required – information that would help her best advise her clients. She has obtained numerous certifications like the Certified Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP®) and Master Fund Advisor, Associate Financial Planner (AFPCM). Currently, she is pursuing to be a Certified Financial Planner.
It is this desire for knowledge and her passion for helping others that led her to chance upon Highlife in 2016, where she was introduced to estate planning. Highlife’s work ethics and dedication to building the best Estate Planning Advisory Practice gave her the courage to take a leap of faith and make a career shift to Highlife. Today, the Box of Wishes® that Highlife offers to clients is a testament to Highlife’s dedication to helping clients achieve their hopes, goals and dreams, which Joanna is proud to be part of.
Outside of work, Joanna is active in sports as well as community work. Her favorite sports are mainly rock climbing and badminton. In her personal time, Joanna also volunteers with her church as a wedding coordinator.
